Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel range

Hello guys! I hope you have all had a nice week! Today I am going to be reviewing a skincare range made by boots that I really really like! It is of course the Tea Tree and witch hazel range! Tea Tree and Witch Hazel are supposed to work wonders on oily and spot prone skin (which is my skin type unfortunately) and I think this range really does! Anyway enjoy my review !

So like I said earlier Tea Tree and Witch Hazel are very good for oily and spot prone skin. Witch Hazel is astringent, cooling and refreshing which means it is great at cleansing toning and refreshing the skin. It is rich in antioxidant properties which calm inflamed skin, soothe irritation, roughness and soreness. Tea Tree is an antiseptic which is why it is so good at treating spots. It has stimulating properties that help the body to fight infections. It is also acts as an anti fungal and antibacterial.
All of the information above is supplied from a book which I am going to be doing a review on very soon so watch this space!

So the first product (which has literally run out) is this foaming face wash. It looks like green water in the bottle but as you pump it out it turns into foam. It doesn't really smell amazing but it is not unpleasant , I think it just smells of Tea Tree and Witch Hazel.

Positives-
It felt like it was washing my face well
It toned my face
It contributed well to getting rid of some of my spots

Negatives-
It could have lathered up more when washing my face instead of just disappearing .

The next product is the Exfoliating Face Scrub. This scrub contains little grains that gently exfoliate your face and un clog your pores. It has the same smell as the foaming face wash.

Positives-
The scrub wasn't too abrasive but it wasn't to gentle, it was the perfect amount of scrubiness
It brightened and softened my skin after using it
It scrubed away any dry skin

Negatives-
I can't really think of any major negatives which is great!

The next product is this Reshreshing Jelly Facial Scrub. This is still Tea Tree and Witch Hazel but it has an extract of berry in it which is why it is a pretty pink colour. Again this is another scrub so it has little grains in it. It is pretty similar to the scrub above apart from it has berry extract in it and it is has a gel like texture rather than a cream like texture!

Positives-
Once again it has the perfect amount of abrasiveness.
It smells so nice
It contributes to getting rid of spots
It stops the skin looking oily

Negatives-
I really can't thing of any negatives again!

The last product that I have got from this range is this Daily Detox Facial wash. This time instead of an extract of berry, this wash has got active charcoal in it. The charcoal helps to gently draw out deep impurities and excess oil. This product smells weird to me. The scent sort of reminds me of raisins for some reason and it is not the nicest smell in the range in my opinion. Also it has a thick texture.

Positives-
It really feels like it is pulling out impurities from deep down into your skin
It isn't over drying but it still removes oil
It leaves your skin feeling nice and clean

Negatives-
Because it is very thick, I find it quite hard to lather up so to improve it it could be made more easier to lather up.

So those were all of the products in the range that I have got. Obviously they have got lots of other things such as moisturisers and face masks and I will leave a link to the range here : Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel range

Have you tried any products from this range? Do you want to?

Thank you

Fake Tan First Impressions

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a lovely day! Firstly I would like to apologise for posting this post one day late. I have been really busy lately with exams and I have literally had no free time! However nearly all of my exams are over now so I should be back on track with blogging!

Anyway, today I am going to be talking to you about my fake tan first impressions. I have never fake tanned before but because it is now getting hotter and I am starting to show more leg ;) I thought I might as well give it a go!
Enjoy!

So I have had my eye on the hoola zero tan lines all over body bronzer for quite a while so I decided to buy it. I have also heard that it is good if you exfoliate your legs before tanning so I decided to pick up a limited edition blueberry scrub from the body shop.

This blueberry scrub is so lovely. It does smell fruity but it doesn't really remind me of blueberries. I suppose it smells like them a bit but to me it really smells like cherry bakewell tarts.Whatever it smells like, it smells good! It has seeds in it which help to gently exfoliate your skin and it leaves you feeling so soft and smooth! I absolutely love it!

So to actually tan myself, like I said earlier, I used the Hoola zero tan lines body bronzer. I think this is incredible! It doesn't smell like the typical cheesy, soapy and unpleasant fake tan smell but instead it smells nice and fruity which I definitely wasn't expecting. Also the whole point of this product is to get a natural tan with zero tan lines and I agree with both of those things. It leaves you with a subtle bronze and there are no tan lines to be seen.I've also heard that for people with darker skin, it leaves you with a nice glow!
The difference the tan made
(Excuse my sausage legs)

The fake tan has a little lid that is supposed to look like a hoola skirt and in the lid there is a sponge you can pull out. I think the sponge is a great way of applying the tan. The tan itself is a very thick, dark Brown and sort of sticky formula but once it is buffed into the skin it is soft and not sticky at all.

I think that I would definitely give both of these products a 10/10 and I can't wait for the weather to make up its mind and be sunny so I can parade my beautifully tanned legs around! :)

I hope you enjoyed this post! Thank you!

Testing out pinterest beauty hacks

Hello everyone! I hope you have had a lovely week! The other day I was scrolling through pinterest and I saw a pin (I'm not sure if thats what they are called but I'm just gonna go with it) that showed you 25 beauty hacks every girl needs. I decided to pick out 5 to try out and test if they really work and that is what today's post is about so lets get to it! (I'm sorry about my rubbish and unflattering photos- I tried my best!)

1. White eyeshadow base to make other colours pop!

So I was very intrigued by this one as I love eyeshadow and if this did work I would use it again. Obviously the first thing I did was put a base of white on one eye and then I put a purpley shade on both eyes to see if I could tell the difference.
Here are my results :
First of all guess what eye had white eyeshadow underneath the purple. If you choose the eye on your left (or the one without my bit of fringe hanging down above it) then you were correct! In this picture it is quite hard to notice any difference but the eyeshadow on the white base eye did look a bit brighter and I guess it did make it pop a little bit so I suppose this hack works! Use a white eyeshadow base to make other colours pop!

2. Using concealer, a lip pencil and a lip balm to contour lips

So when I saw this I was like oooh this looks fun. You basically have to cover your whole lips in concealer, then line your lips, then draw a few lines of lip liner in the middle of your lips and finally use the lip balm to blend all of the colours together.

Results:
I did not like this hack. I have quite big lips anyway and I found that this hack was just long and a hassle to get results that weren't even great. It just made my lip liner colour much lighter and just didn't really work that well for me. So yeah I would avoid this one.

3. Curling and lining at the same time

So this hack should enable you to curl your eyelashes and line your eyelid at the same time. To do that, all you have to do is line the (usually) black rubber part of the curlers with  a crayon eyeliner and then voila get curling!

So this hack was literally rubbish. The only way I could have lined my eyes was by pinching them with the eyelash curler which actually REALLY hurts. However on an up side I really do recommend eyelash curlers to you. If you curl your lashes at the right angle then it can really make a big difference.

 4. Using a piece of card to help you with your winged liner.

I was really excited to try out this hack because I am rubbish at doing winged liner and I thought that all of my winged eyeliner problems would be solved. This hack is very simple. All you have to do is get a piece of card and put it against your face where you would like your eyeliner to go. Then use the straight line to draw a perfect wing.

So for me this didn't really work. I'm not sure if it was because my piece of card was to flimsy (I stole one of my dad's business cards and used that) but I just couldn't seem to draw a straight line. I know people do this hack with cellotape so maybe that works better. Overall this one is no use to me!

5. Using red lipstick to cover under eye circles

Basically all you have to do for this hack is get one of your red or pinkey red lipsticks and apply a light layer under your eyes and then put your foundation and concealer on top of it.

Results:

I really didn't like this hack. Firstly it was a waste of my lipstick and secondly my under eye turned pink due to my foundation and concealer mixing with the red lipstick. It just drew more attention to my under eye circles and yeah I definitely do not recommend this hack!

So that is the end of my pinterest beauty hacks post and I hope you enjoyed it. I would say the white eyeshadow base to make eyeshadow pop was my favourite hack and my least favourite hack was using red lipstick to conceal under eye circles. I'm sorry if one of these hacks works for you and I just totally done it wrong and said loads of bad things about it and I'm sorry about using the word hack so much - it must have been really annoying.

Thankyou

Nyx cosmetics haul

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great day! Oops I went and done it again! I had another make up splurge!

When I found out that Nyx had come to boots stores I grabbed my kindle as fast as I could, went onto the boots website and looked to see if my nearest boots was one of the lucky stores to get a Nyx counter. Unfortunately it didn't but there was one in another close town that did. So I asked my mum to take me there as it was the town she used to live in as a child. Today she did (thanks mum) and I decided to treat myself to a few products!

The first thing I picked up was a vivid brights eyeliner in the colour vivid violet. I was instantly drawn to the little stand of these because of their brilliant bright colours. I decided to get vivid violet because in the summer I may be dip dyeing my hair violet and I thought it would look nice if my hair and eyes matched. There are loads of colours to choose from such as red, green, blue, orange and a few others. This eyeliner dried so quickly and stayed on really well and I love it!

The next thing I got was a skin illuminator in the shade Ritualistic. This provides you with a beautiful, subtle highlight and it is just so pretty! Ritualistic is a pearly colour with a champagne glow but you can get these illuminators in other colours that are more bronze toned or more pink toned. This highlighter is in powder form and even though it isn't the best, it is still pretty pigmented. Overall it is lovely!

I then moved onto the lips compartment which was quite busy but I did manage to grab two items. The first product was a butter gloss in the colour Tiramisu. I have read quite a few good reviews about these so I decided to pick one up. These lip glosses are great! There is nothing worse than a sticky lip gloss and these butter glosses are not sticky at all. They are very moisturizing and make your lips look so juicy! The colour Tiramisu is a brown toned nudey pink and that ladies and gentlemen was probably the most worst description of a colour ever. Anyway there are sooo many different colours to choose from and these butter glosses are just lovely!

The final product I bought was a liquid suede cream lipstick in the shade soft spoken. These lipsticks are glossy at first but then dry matte to look like suede. I think these are the best matte lipsticks I have ever tried. They are not drying, they have such vibrant colours and they are so pretty! There are some very different colours in this range. You can get nudes and pinks or you can go to the other end of the spectrum and go for the bright blue or deep grey shades! I decided to go for soft spoken which is yet again another pinkey, browny nude. These lipsticks are so good and I really recommend them!

From left to right: Ritualistic (skin illuminator), Vivid violet (vivid lights eyeliner), Soft spoken (liquid suede cream lipstick) and Tiramisu (butter gloss).

That's the end of my Nyx haul and I hope you enjoyed it! I am thinking of doing a makeup tutorial using some of these products so leave me a comment saying if you want to see that or any other posts you would like me to do.

Thank you!

Mini Revlon Haul

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a lovely week! Today I am going to be showing you what I purchased in my very mini Revlon Haul (which literally consists of 3 items)! I hope you enjoy it!

I have to say that Revlon is my favourite drugstore brand! I feel like it achieves top quality results but for half the price of any high end product! They are amazing.

The first thing I bought was a new bottle of my favourite foundation ever - Revlon colour stay! This foundation is just so good! It provides such full coverage and gives a semi matte finish. It also doesn't look cakey and doesn't dry your skin out! It is just fantastic! I bought mine in the shade buff because the previous colour I bought was too orange for me!

The next thing I bought was an ultra HD matte lip colour. I'm really glad I bought this because I absolutely love it! It is matte but it doesn't seem to dry out my lips. It also feels very soft on my lips and the ultra HD matte lip colours have such a good range of shades for you to choose from. The colour I bought is in the shade devotion which is quite a strong, dark pink but it is still a very wearable colour.

The final product that I purchased was another ultra HD matte lip colour. Like I said earlier , these are just great!  I got my second one in the colour seduction which I would say is a pinky , peachy nude. I prefer this colour to devotion because it is less bright and I just love nude colours anyway.

That is the end of my Revlon Haul and I hope you enjoyed this post!

Thankyou!

No mirror makeup challenge

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a great day! Today I just wanted to do something different so I decided to take a shot at the no mirror make up challenge.

I had to get all of these products on my face without using a mirror. Of course when it came to the eyeliner things got fun but I found everything else quite easy to put on.

So the first thing I did was put on my garnier bb cream with a beauty blender followed by my urban decay concealer and my Yves saint laurent under eye concealer. I found these pretty easy to put on without a mirror but I just made sure that I buffed them all in really well.

Next I put a bit of hoola bronzer on my brush and put it on my cheeks and I did the same to my Nars Orgasm blusher. These were also easy to put on because you literally just have to brush your cheek up and down with a brush which is easy peasy!

The next thing I did was put on some eyeshadow. I was a bit worried that it would come out really bad but when I looked at my make up it didn't really notice. I used my tanya burr galaxy palette.

However putting my eyeliner on was a different story!  It was so hard which shows in the results! I just didn't know where to start, where my lash line was and I didn't know what on earth I was doing so I just tried my best.

I then put on my mascara and I used benefits they're real mascara for this. It was easy to put on the mascara but the only thing that went wrong was that I kept on hitting my face with my mascara wand which resulted in random black dots around my eyes and nose area but oh well!

The final thing I had to do was my lipstick! For this I chose a bright coral lip lacquer because I just thought if your gonna go for it , you gotta go for it (or in other words you might as well choose the brightest lipstick in your collection instead of going for an easy nude). I used my soap and glory sexy mother pucker lip lacquer in watchama coral and my lipstick went on quite well.

Results
It is now time for me to stop rambling on and actually show you my make up!

Ta daaaa! It's not too bad is it? I think I just need to practice the eyeliner!

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post!

What straighteners do I use?

Hello everybody! I hope you are all having a great day! Lately I got my hair cut from under my shoulders to just under my chin! I would say that it is a long bob which is apparently quite trendy at the moment . Anyway I have been straightening my hair a lot more lately which is not really a good thing but I wanted to share with you what straighteners I use because I think they are great! Enjoy!

So these are the Andrew Barton Salon sleek straighteners . The design of these is so classy , I love the black and gold! Also they come with a heat mat which you can leave your straighteners on whilst they cool down. This is so good because I always used to worry that I would burn my floor with my old straighteners. The best part of these straighteners though, is that the titanium-ceramic heating plates are infused with argan which makes them glide through your hair so smoothly! I also love how they have 20 different heat settings so I can choose the temperature I want to use to straighten my hair and it warms up so quickly!

So what do I think of these?

Design: 8/10 (sometimes the button doesn't turn on?)

Easiness to use: 9/10

Quality of results: 10/10

So overall , a bunch of very great results ! They leave my hair so soft and also shiny after using them as well as leaving them super sleek and straight!

I hope you enjoyed this quick post! See you soon!

Real techniques purchases

Hello everyone! I hope you are all having a lovely day today ! When I went shopping a few days ago , I went into boots and picked up a few things from real techniques. I love real techniques. All of their brushes are such good quality and they are also quite cheap .

In boots there was a buy one and get another half price deal on. I was originally only going to buy one thing but I couldn't resist buying another just to get this deal. So I chose another product and I have to say that I have got no regrets !
The things that I bought were the miracle complexion sponge and the deep cleansing gel!

So the extra product that I bought was this deep cleansing gel. I absolutely love cleaning my makeup brushes so I just thought this would be nice to try out! I washed my makeup brushes last night with this and left them to dry overnight and when I woke up this morning I was pleasantly surprised ! This gel had made my brushes so soft and so clean! All you do is rinse them with water, rub the gel on them until it starts to lather up and then rinse it all away! Super easy and super good!

The other thing that I bought was a miracle complexion sponge (or beauty blender). I've been wanting this for a while and recently I just decided that I was going to buy it! I'm so glad I did because I absolutely love it! It makes your foundation (or whatever you use it for) look so beautiful and flawless on your face! I used to use the real techniques buffing brush to put my foundation on but I will now be using this ! If you use your fingers to put your foundation on then I would really recommend this to you because you will see a massive difference in the appearance of your foundation! Definitely earns a 10/10 from me!

So those were the things I purchased from real techniques! I recommend both of them but especially the complexion sponge because it just really improves the look of your foundation!

I hope you enjoyed this post ! See you soon!
